Though production numbers ranging from 4,000 to 6,000 have appeared all over the web, Dodge said on Thursday that it hasn’t made a final decision about how many Challenger SRT8’s it will ultimately produce.

With 4,300 confirmed orders on the first day, and 6,600 total as of Wednesday, Dodge will only confirm that the limited production run will stay under 10,000 units.
As Dodge releases tantalizing images of the production Challenger, interest in the car continues to grow by the day, if not the hour. Dodge says that it has already taken personal information from 50,000 of what it calls “hand raisers,” potential buyers that have contacted the automaker. The company claims that number is larger even than similar response to the release of its Charger.
Whether Dodge end’s up making 5,000 or 9,999 SRT8s, we’d bet that every car is able to find a happy home in short order.
