Excess weight has been Audi's problem for a while now, so lighter cars are a good direction for them. I expect that they will never embrace the Lotus philosophy, though, of "add lightness".

I wonder what Audi's definition of lightweight is. Also, I'm willing to bet that these lightweight cars cost more than their more pig-like counterparts.
