The sleek new Cadillac CTS has already started making its way into dealership lots, but GM hasn’t stopped there. While our eyes are focused on the much anticipated CTS-V due in 2009, Cadillac is holding us over with the CTS Sport concept introduced here in Las Vegas.

The CTS Sport will use the same direct-injection 3.6-liter V-6 from the standard CTS, but many body modifications are what make the Sport concept so special. Carbon fiber is heavily used throughout the exterior on new front and rear fascias and front fender extractors. Mesh inserts are added on the modified hood and LED lighting is added into the brake ducts. A new rear deck spoiler finishes up the back end, where new clear lens taillamps are housed. Polished and forged 20-inch wheels mask the high-performance brakes with painted calipers, as well. Inside, carbon fiber trim plates are added to the consoles, and Recaro sport seats with leather trim are the seats of choice for this concept. We’re sure that many of these features will carry over to the upcoming CTS-V, as well.

We would have liked a more powerful engine, but we’re sure Cadillac didn’t want to steal too much thunder from the upcoming V-named sport sedan.
