Acura has now officially debuted its new 2009 TSX, so we’ve got some live and in-person images to go with the previously released information.

The good news is that from most angles the new car looks to be a welcome freshening of the TSX, updated to an aggressive and slightly edgy standard. The bad news is that the front fascia doesn’t seem to be any more resolved in person than it did in the first images we saw. Acura’s purse-lipped new corporate face is milder on the TSX than its treatment on the new RL, but that and the brick wall style grill will take some getting used to.

Have a look at our live gallery of 2009 Acura TSX images below, and tell us how you find the new sedan in comments.

No interior pics????

There’s something about the side profile that says “last gen CTS” to me.

Will this have the 2.2L turbo motor seen on the RDX, tuned? If so, sign me up!

The grill on this just looks like an enhanced version of what the Mazda 6 originally came with.

I really want to like this car, but I’m not feeling it. Maybe the S-Type will do the trick….

According to another auto blog:
“The 2.4-liter four-cylinder carries over with approximately 200 horses and a tiny bit more torque than before.”

None of the pictures made any juices flow.

What happened - the New TSX looks like a bloated baby boomer.

Has Nissan (New Maxima) and Honda (New Acura TSX) swapped places?

Boring and plain as vanilla yogurt. The Accord actually looks more interesting. Now that it has been said, it does look like a Caddy without the “edge”. Who is their demographic for this? Gosh, another major loser for Acura…

Nothing to see here.

I used to think the Camary was boring………

*correction* “Camry” sorry.

I’ve long seen the TSX as a rational alternative to the German Three’s entry-level models.

A reasonably priced, well appointed car that runs respectable performance numbers (sort of), is subtly styled and thoroughly reliable.

While much of this may still hold true I find myself completely underwhelmed by the above. As Blue-Coupe said, maybe the Type-S will do the trick, but my enthusiasm for this redesign is slipping.

That car looks just boring and uninspired. The current TSX had at least some stylish simplicity akin to Audi that I always liked.

J. Steed, perhaps time has come for you to look at the Saab 9-3. With XWD coming to the range in May of this year, the Swedish manufacturer does become an alternative, albeit Saabs do have their pitfalls.

Wow, this new TSX is lame, the current car is much sharper and has some edge. This looks like a 90’s era Hyundai. I would take the ugly Accord over this. At least that car has character.

I’m glad we’re not getting those in europe

This looks like a watered down version of a Mazda6. They should have at least added some bling to the thing; I think the new Accord looks much more upscale than the TSX.
