Come Take a Look: Loads of Hyundai Genesis Sedan Images

2009-hyundai-genesis-sedan-hl.jpg

Though we’ve already brought you loads of information regarding Hyundai’s new 2009 Genesis Sedan before its world premiere at the North American International Auto Show, we thought it only right to follow up with a warm and steamy stack of glossy images.

Though the fate of the Genesis has yet to be written, the car certainly seems to be getting a lot of praise early for its combination of looks, potential ability, and price point. Final judgment on the sedan is still along way off though. So for now, shuffle through these high-resolution images, and then tell us what you think of the car in comments.

Uh oh. That's not an iDrive-like control knob, is it?

Reilly

Sedan is very G35-ish, which isn't bad.

Peripatetic

Forward of the B-pillar is very Acura RL. The back half is of course 5-series. Not bad looking though. Profile looks a lot like the Accord/G35. No surprise, since they copied from the same original. At this rate, in another few decades, every car on the road will look like a BMW. Bangle will have the last laugh after all.

I just hope they tack on an extra two inches to the seat mounting bracket slides. I sat in every Hyundai model made, and not one of them had nearly enough leg room for a tall guy (5'18"). I really like the interior and style, and that is still a great warranty, but I had to take my money elsewhere, as I am not going to buy a car that I can't comfortably drive.

Looks like it will be the "used" car buy of the year once it has been out for just a short time. Just check out the going price for the current "flag ship" the Azera. I'm really wanting to move to a rear driver and am counting on Hyundai's historically poor resale to net me a "steal".

Small wager that they alter the grill after one year. Big wager they do it after two. A stronger, simpler grill treatment could make this a big seller. As it is, it looks contrived and overcomplex. Even Mazda with their wave crap wouldn't patch this on a 6-series. However, imagine the new Mazda Euro 6 grill on this baby. Would look good -- the profile and rear are both luxury quality.

Sharky

It kind of looks like the "Anycar" you see in print advertisements sometimes, where they take an obviously real car and Photoshop a fake grill and headlamps over the image to not infringe on any copyrights. Looks like a G35 with a phony grill Photoshopped on. Nonetheless, it's a handsome car.

i see the back lights look more like that of the infiniti I35 (but inversed). nice interior, with its price i would buy it any time (although the ugly benz like grill).

enthusiast

always reminds me of a Mercedes without the big badge on the grill.

I would buy a year old one at a good discount. Let's face it though, this car will never steal sales from BMW or Infiniti. The company it's going to screw is Lincoln. With the hyundai warranty and price, Lincoln and it's bland MKVXRSTI or whatever it's called doesn't have any more street cred than this car which spells trouble.

Another BMW ripoff.

I thought the new Toyota Camry was a BMW ripoff, but this is REALLY a clear BMW wannabe.

Not that all of these "luxury" sedans don't look the same - they do. Boring! Kudos to Mercedes for making their new sedans look ten times sexier than these cars.

Watchout

European carmakers have enjoyed free ride behind their predtigious names without due deliverance of quality. Sometimes, they caught eyes of onlookers with radical designes and a little chanes here and there. They, however, continued their slip down the customer quality satisfaction charts. Still, people blindly chase after their cars because their names and illusive prestige that implies. Japanese carmakers seems to fall into the same trap. It provided a very short altanative for people who wanted a something different with a little gizmo here and a little gizmo there , but resulted in the same old design at the best that looks like a Geisha’s ass. (Anyone seen the rear of Lexus SC430?!?…Yawn)
In contrast, Koreans are really becoming a true contender with their ability to make striking design and engineering. Theirs is of an excitement and refinement. Keep on making good hits like this one, and soon enough, your name will be the prestige others will look after. I congraturate the Genesis of new era for Korean Automakers.
