There’s not much one can rightfully complain about when getting paid to handle photos of beautiful cars day in and day out. The only ’sometimes-sore’ point is knowing you can’t be at every photo shoot to see each one of these great machines in person. This was felt by me most sorely when Matt Davis covered the BMW 328’s this past summer.

The stars were aligned in my favor last weekend, though. We finagled some ‘upstairs/VIP’ tickets from the folks at the BMW booth (for photography purposes), and once up top, we were greeted with an empty room housing none other than the BMW 328 Mille Miglia.

Great as our photography was for the original shoot, it didn’t do justice to seeing such a perfect shape in the flesh.

Let’s remember that this beauty was not stamped out with giant machine molds. The few individual samples were painstakingly hand-hammered and shaped by artisans of the industry.
