Report: Audi to Build TT Speedster for Middle East

After spotting a test mule of the car last week, Car magazine is reporting that Audi is indeed moving forward with a production version of the TT Speedster. First seen as the Clubsport Quattro concept in 2007, the Speedster is allegedly destined for the uber-rich Middle East market and is to be produced in a quantity ranging from 50 to 100 examples.

News of the production TT Speedster has come courtesy of Audi’s marketing director for the Middle East, Bernd Rosenbichler. Rosenbichler said that the new Audi will make its world debut in the region and is only planned for sale in the conveniently rain-free part of the world.

Word is that the production Speedster will stay very true to its concept counterpart, a claim that’s easy to believe given the region and clientele the car is aimed towards. Have a look at the 2007 concept in our gallery below.

Rain-free, yes. But sand storms are a still bitch!

Okay I'll admit: I'm jealous :(

so they are putting this where the temperature is 50 degree or more in summer. is their marketing director (Bernd Rosenbichler) is an idiot. ppl over there don't prefer soft tops because of the crazy hot weather. he expects a speedster to be different.

I don't think a TT carries enough of that charismatic "it" factor to warrant a special model. I mean, it's cool, but it doesn't seem awesome enough to justify a special edition. A Ferrari or Lamborghini, sure. An R8, even. But not a TT.

Once again, we do not get the cool looking versions, looks more macho then the one we get

With a few modification this could be sold in the states. Maybe the Middle East will be a Test market. Kinda makes sense lots of money and probable few regs to get into way.
