If the current Nissan/Infiniti line up is any clue this car will be a visual stunner! I’m expecting they’ll make this generation a little more angular than the previous generation’s very curved and sleek lines.
So now it’s final. Nissan will showcase the next new Z-Car at the L.A. Auto Show this November. This will be the real thing, not a teaser, according to a source, who added that the car looks ‘fantastic.’’
A lot of blurb on the new Z is already out in cyberspace but yes, the new Z will be shorter than now (some four-inches, apparently) but a touch wider, still have two-seats and yes, power will come from the same excellent 3.7-liter V-6 found in the Infiniti G37 Coupe.
So welcome the 370Z and while the new design will be evolutionary, we understand it’s still instantly and unmistakably a Z. Roll on November.

So where are the spy-pics? Anywhere? Anything? You mean you’ve got nothin’ on the most iconic sportscar to come from Japan? You mean, you’ve got Zip on the Zed? U-N-n-n-n-believeable.
You know, I think those car companies are playin’ y’all for saps! Even with the spyfotos everywhere and a camera in every phone, they really only let you see what they want you to see.
good news that it will be shorter, i am guessing that nissan is not going to have a different wheelbase for than the g37, so the length must be coming off the overhangs.
smaller=lighter and better proportions
Leaves a good space below it for a smaller model that is lighter and a smaller engine
WONDERFUL. This is one that I’d seriously consider buying… The new motor is a plus. Now, don’t change the price, and get rid of the ridiculously huge rear strut tower brace that ruins the “trunk”… and bring the stability control down to the lower models in the range… and maybe a sunroof? Please? ![]()
The 350 may be getting some wrinkles now, but it is a fine sports car. It was a styling triumph, with performance to match. I don’t care for the NISMO edition or the price (which the Mustang V-8 undercuts), but it ranks as one of the top five cars out of the Far East this decade, no doubt.
My 350Z may get a sibling next to it in the garage! I absolutely can’t wait to see the new car, and I hope it has the same impact on me as did the Z33 when it debuted.
Steve - If you want a car with a trunk you shouldn’t be looking at sports cars.
Not that I’ll be buying one, but I’m really looking forward to this car. Nissan and Infiniti have a good thing going lately and if the G37 coupe is any idication I’m sure the 370Z will be great looking.
Shorter AND wider? I always thought the current Z was stubby and wide. It’s going to be almost square if they carry through on this threat . . . .

RB powered Fairlady Roadster? Ok, ok… SR powered Fairlady Roadster?
