Chevy Releases Info on Ron Fellows Z06, Indy Pace Special Edition Corvettes
Chevrolet looks set to stoke Corvette enthusiasts’ fires with the introduction of a pair of special-edition models, the Ron Fellows ALMS GT1 Champion Corvette Z06 (good thing they didn’t try to put that all on one badge), and the Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Replica Corvette Convertible (ditto).
We tipped you off to these babies yesterday, but today we have the official skinny: the Fellows car utilizes a racing-style fender stripe that’s designed to be reminiscent of the Corvette GT1 race car which Fellows drives. Painted Arctic White with a maple leaf motif (Fellows is a proud Canadian), the Z06’s red interior also plays nicely with Canada’s colors.
Want one? Just 399 are to be produced, with about 300 earmarked for the States, 33 for our friends to the North, and 66 for the rest of the world. So get in line, and prepare to have $77,500 in your pockets (plus destination). If you want Onstar and navigation, you’ll need to shell out $79,945.
As for the Indy 500 models, Chevy plans to release a total of 500 units painted in GM’s appropriately-named Atomic Orange, with complementing gold graphics. All of them will be convertibles. Chevy’s actual pace car will pace the 91st running of the legendary race on May 27, and the cars will be available in the spring.
We're looking forward to clapping our eyes on them in Chicago next week.

I don't know I guess it's just me, but I really don't see the purpose of buying a special edition vehicle if it's only about ascetics.
