Looks pretty frumpy. The coupe suits me just fine. FIRST POST! Woopie
The long-heard rumors of Bugatti developing an open-top version of its Veyron super car appear to be true, as parent company Volkswagen has said that such a variant will enter production next year.
Bugatti spokesman Georges Keller has confirmed that the company is developing a Veyron convertible, though the car will offer a removable roof panel instead of a more traditional convertible top. An unnamed former Bugatti executive said that the panel was the only solution because, “there was no other solution which could fit with its safety cage.” The same source let on that there would be no storage space in the car for the panel.
No word yet on how many examples of the new car will be made, but Bugatti has held that it will only produce 300 copies of the standard Veyron.
(Have a look at the Veyron 16.4 below.)

Huh. For some reason, I thought Veyrons already could pop their tops.
wow 254mph blowing in your hair. YAAAAAAAAAAA! seriously, how fast can you go in an open top.
At least it’s not one of those profligate resource gluttons like those evil Hummers.
Brock,
Notice how you don’t hear anyone whining about what a gas hog and a waste of resources this car is? It’s no different than the Hummer but since there’s no “movement” against supercars, no one has anything to say. If those people only realized that ANY car is a luxury and if they REALLY believed in saving the environment they would do more than just change the car they drive.
Exactly, Mena. Compare the posts following any of the Rolls-Royce Phantom permutation news stories versus the witless attack postings below any Hummer news article.
guys check this video then make the judgement about the veyron fuel consumption. notice the part when he says that at top speed (255) the tires wear off in around 15 minutes, however, the tank empties in 12 minutes …… end of the story.
