Volkswagen of America to Change its Name in the New Year
Not quite as shocking as Toyota’s news this holiday season, Volkswagen is going to have more of a fresh start than most companies in 2008.
As of January 1, Volkswagen of America, Inc, will officially change its name to Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. The company said that the name chance would better reflect the company’s inclusion of Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini under the VW “umbrella.

Here's the other names that were tossed out the window:
- WV which translates to "Wow Wagon"(so you could tell it was a VW in your rearview mirror)
- WNOCW (We Name Our Cars after Wind)
- FPNS (Four-Pot-Nazi-Snitbox)

Hey Winding Road, some of these captions a much funnier than the ones in your caption contest. I was wondering how many others thought as I did that marketing Bentleys and Bugattis as VWs was probably not the brightest idea anyone has had?
