Report: Honda Mulling Production V-8 For Acura
Will Acura finally give in to America’s cry for V-8 power?
Honda has stubbornly resisted the market’s cries for anything larger than a V-6, and critics would say that doing so has hurt offerings like the Acura RL and even the Ridgeline.
Acknowledged plans are already afoot for a 2009 NSX powered by a V-10, and Automotive News now says that the company is considering an eight cylinder powertrain for production cars.
The magazine points out that the company’s Los Angeles Auto Show debut, the polarizing Advanced Design Concept (shown above), would likely require more than just a V-6. Fair enough. Let’s just hope we don’t have to wait until 2020 to see it.

Acura makes a car that I really like, and have admired. But it's a V-6. Won't do that. I would do it in a flash if it were a V-8.
But, at some level, it's not just the V-8. It's that it's a Honda.
To me, Hondas are Clinton voters. They're the global warming crowd that loves AlGore.
Honda is a car that tells you what you should want, not what you do want, and Acura is just a Honda with frosting, which is why they don't have a V-8.
So, I guess it really doesn't matter. Not gonna buy one, either way.

What HONDA should do with the ACURA brand is offer the ACURA cars with different Engines, 4,6,8,10 and 12 Cylinder engines. ACURA should offer the TSX in sedan,Wagen and Coupe form and the same with the TL; and all Wheel drive. They should make the RL a Little bigger and offer it with a V8,V10 and V12. ACURA should bring the profromance side knowingly the MUGEN guy's in, to have a MUGEN TSX with a V8 and also in the TL,and the RDX with a V6 and the MDX with a 510 HP V8. ACURA should have a small roadster to go up against the Benz SLK, and offer two SUPERCARS instead of one; one with a Front V10 and the other with a Midengine V12, NSX anyone. But for real ACURA you should offer an entery level hatch back car based off the European HONDA civic but with opitinal all wheel drive.
