On Point Interview With Hyundai/Kia Design Head Young-Ill Kim

young-ill-kim-ii.jpgDesign & Emotion has an interesting interview with Young-Ill Kim, Hyundai and Kia’s Executive Vice-President for Design and Brand.

Caught at the Fifth Design & Emotion Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, Young-Ill Kim is allegedly responsible for designing around 75-percent of the cars currently plying Korea’s roads.

Of particular interest is how the designer views Korean design versus Western design, as well as efforts to develop a national design language, in the way that enthusiasts come to expect different things out of French, German, or American automobiles.
