Ford Super Duty, A Smuggler’s Dream

Ford’s Super Duty models are a smugglers truck of choice according to the Houston Chronicle.
Border patrol officials told the paper that the trucks are stolen by Mexican criminal cartels for the use in drug and human trafficking. The F-250 and F-350 hold a lot of cargo, can cross difficult terrain and are, reportedly, some of the easiest vehicles to steal, making them an easy target for thieves.

Lt. Scott Dombrowski of the Houston Police Department’s auto theft division told the paper, “You can steal these trucks with a screwdriver.”
A Ford spokesman said that the 2008 models of the Super Duty’s now include the in-key microchip to prevent easy theft.
Dombrowski said that, in 2006, 888 F-250 and F-350 models were stolen from the Houston area. And, in 2007, the number increased 40 percent to 1,245.

I live in San Diego ansd its true.
Lots of superduty’s stolen here. A friend of mine found his in the Colorado River. Sheriff has a dirt lot out there loaded with totaled coyote mobiles.
