Ford Surprises With Iosis X Crossover Concept

Right off the bat, we’ve got a pleasant surprise – a concept from Ford that hasn’t been leaked early. As is the way with the Internet these days, we thought most everything scheduled for a debut at the Paris Motor Show had already been seen in one form (renderings) or another (photos), but the Blue Oval managed to slip one by the cyber goalie with their Iosis X concept.
As is evident from the front graphic, the Iosis X makes use of Ford’s new ‘kinetic design’ form language, first presaged in the original Iosis concept, then later toned down for the upcoming Mondeo.

I don't think this one will hit the mark. They need to bring the old school styles back!

I disagree. With the exception of the wonky side view mirrors that look great, but would be impossible for a person under 5'6" to utilize and a few obvious concept designs that will never make it to the final model (glass flooring?), I think that this could be an interesting turn for the otherwise boring, played out Ford market. Non gender specific in styling, quirky enough to satisfy the Gen-X crowd while sleek enough for the boomers, I say bring it on! I'll take one.

I wish they would make it!

My last six vehicles were Ford trucks (still have two), but this is the first Ford I've seen in many years that I might want and be able to use. The Mustang looks great, and would be fun, but is impossible in snowy mountains (220"/season). If they'd make a three-door Iosis, I'd be even more interested.

At this point, the closest I can come to what I want would be the rumored 3-door Subaru Impreza STi (STI?).

Kuga’s roofline is less aggressive than its progenitor, to allow for more useable headroom. Though a family resemblance to Mazda’s CX-7 CUV is evident, the edgier Ford is a handsome vehicle in its own right. [...]
