The BMW 2002 Turbo is one of the most rare and sought after members of the already wildly popular 2002 family. Introduced to the world at the 1973 Frankfurt Motor Show, this little devil was one of the early examples of turbo charging for European performance cars, joining the Porsche 911, and Saab’s 99 in the early days of forced induction.

While most enthusiasts get excited at the chance to see, or even drive a regular 2002, most of us won’t ever have the chance to experience the turbo version. With less than 100 examples currently in the U.S., the pert little coupe is quite rare. That scarceness is one of the reasons that this listing on eBay Motors is so fascinating, especially for a car that seems to be in such good mechanical repair. The 1974 example is in nicely correct trim, with original wheels, deck lid spoiler, and even the original (nonfunctional) radio.

Truly one of the founding fathers of the reputation that BMW still enjoys to this day, make sure to browse through our gallery of images featuring this special 2002 Turbo.
