Fond of the hands-free concept and easy connectivity that Sync offers to customers of the Ford brand, but want a device that you can take with you from one car to the next? Motorola may have a clever answer to your hands-free needs with its new MotoRokr T505 device.

(Click through the jump to read more about the T505.)

With no installation needed, the MotoRokr T505 gives its owner the ability to manage incoming phone calls and music selections all without taking their hands off the wheel, or diverting attention from the important business of driving. The handy gadget clips onto your visor, and connects wirelessly to any Bluetooth enabled cellular device or MP3 player. Music from your portable player is piped through the car’s stereo, and the T505 is able to mute the ruckus at a moment’s notice, allowing one to take important calls in peace.

Though wireless options embedded in a particular vehicle, a la Ford’s Sync, are becoming more common for today’s multitasking driver, the MotoRokr offers a nice way to take the technology with you. For those travelers who drive a rental more often than their own whip (or lucky motoring hacks who jump from ride to ride), Motorola’s new device provides a nice option.

Perhaps a bit more useful than some of the other gadgets we’ve come across lately, would the MotoRokr T505 fit your ramblin’ style? Let us know in comments.

I’m conflicted. I like it because I could pair this with my LG phone (has stereo Bluetooth and a 2GB memory card for MP3s, and actually makes for a decent player), and then patch it to my Mazda6 stereo without having to install an AUX input module, which means I don’t have to tear apart the center console. But on the other hand, I worry that it looks enough like a radar detector that in states like mine where RDs are illegal, I could get pulled over by some eagle-eyed Smoky who thinks he sees an Escort on my visor. That is a definite downside. Plus, no cost info means that it’s hard to make a price comparison to the $75 or so that the AUX module would run for my car’s stereo.

Hey Jeb, I didn’t put any price in the story because I didn’t have an official one. But I think they retail for around $100. Hope that helps.
