Woodward ‘07: It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane… Oh, Wait, it’s a Bird After All

The 2002-2005 Ford Thunderbird may not have set the Blue Oval’s sales charts afire, but the throwback convertible still has its devotees, as evidenced by the handful we saw at this year’s Dream Cruise.

It would appear, however, that for at least one owner, the T-Bird’s Fifties design cues weren’t pervasive enough. Check out the spectacular body kit on this red example, complete with faired-in rear wheels and headrests, chromed taillamp bezels, amber fogs, and odd looking canards on the front and rear fascias that reminded us of Fiat’s mid-Nineties Barchetta convertible. Alas, there wasn’t a continental kit in sight.

The owner’s license plate? N DNIAL. Fair enough.

just check all the trucks around. that’s a shame nobody need a car like this. bigger is better…..bulshit. because i’ll spend more money for gas ,to buy it and maintain it. the ride will be awfull ,no cornering at all. once in a year i’ll load something in the trunk and i’ll call this usefull. no way….

dude… its the freaking woodward dream cruise. the only thing anyone’s going to be hauling is a hot rod or some other toy, like the dude hauling a trike in the 7th picture…

I liked the last T’Bird. I thought it returned the Thunderbird to its roots–perhaps too much so.
