When a Stock R8 Just Won’t Do…

audi-mtm-r888hl.jpg

From the frenzied minds of the company that brought the double-engined Audi TT Bimoto, German Tuners MTM, comes this sleekly sinister Audi R888.

MTM has taken its turbo-fed trickery to the Dubai Motor Show with this take on Audi’s R8 supercar. The R888, so named for the astonishing 888 horsepower it produces, has a turbocharged version of Audi’s 4.2-liter V-8, that will rocket the slate-colored sled from 0-60 in three seconds on its way to a top-end of 223 mph (limited).

So far, the R888 is a singular example, built for a wealthy (and no doubt pumped) European customer. But the world’s wealthiest enthusiasts shouldn’t fear, MTM would happily build more for a cool 280,000 euros apiece. Christmas is just around the corner…

so, another freak car. i can imagine this being a good drag car, nothing else. if the car can handle all that power without sacrificing the handling, audi would've added more power to it.
to give power to a car is not a big deal, but to let the car take care of all that power is the real problem.
and showin' it in dubai, huh ...... so dubai is a market for this. oh well, these guys are the only people on earth who do nothing and get paid (i mean it literaly, i've been there and seen it all).

Dubai Motor Show...I have to wonder how many ridiculous one-offs they have there. But well, I can tell you one thing for sure about this R8. The engine does not look nearly as perfect with all that extra machinery stuck in there.

I agree. I've always found Euro tuners to be messy when it comes to presentation.

no no,
FPF422, i meant the citizens who are from dubai. this is how it goes over there.
1) in governmental firms and companies, the manager and high positions are always occupied by dubai citizens who basically do nothing except signing papers and reading the news. But those who do the work are foreigners and the load of work and amount of payment differ with nationality.
If you are south asian (from India, Pakistan, and so), you get to be their slave and get very few bills. Actually these guys are treated so bad over there that I feel sorry to them.
If you are arab from another country, you are paid more but still you are their slave.
If you are western (European, N. American) or Australian, in other words white, you get paid even better but you have to work hard BUT you ain’t their slave anymore.
luckily I was from this category coz I would k*** anyone who tries to disrespect me.
2) for private firms and companies that are started by foreigners.
You MUST get a partner who is a citizen of the country. This partner can do nothing to the business, but he get his share of profit. The company profits will be divided 49% to the foreigner and 51% to the citizen (it is not even 50/50), even if the citizen doesn’t do anything.
3) for the youngsters (18-25), army positions are always available and they get paid a lot. There they don’t practice or anything (I mean they don’t really have weapons or a “real
