True to form, Honda was out in force at the 2008 Tokyo Auto Salon and here are some of the cars that caught our eye.

Cue the Sports Modulo Type R, an even more aggressive rendering of the brilliant Civic Type R with special aerodynamics and chassis tuning to have it go harder and faster. The Touring Modulo Inspire is a funkily reworked version of Japan’s new 3.5-liter V-6 Inspire (cousin to America’s Accord) with body kit and yummy orange interior. How do you like it?

From Mugen, we had the very cool F154sc, a pumped up Fit with prototype 1.5-liter supercharged engine. Also, the Civic Mugen RR Experimental Spec, with lightweight carbon-fiber body and trick 2.2-liter engine.

The “Civic Mugen RR Experimental Spec” has a pretty awesome name, and I’m sure the weight savings and performance mods are great, but that two tone paint job looks terrible. I’d have gone with either unpainted carbon fiber or all red…rather than making it look like they ran out of money for paint half way through.

The design is nice, but I have to agree with Jonathan… The two toned coloring makes it not as appealing as it should be.
