eBay Auction of the Day: 1985 Subaru Three-Wheeler
Despite one of the hallmarks of the Subaru brand being its unflagging love of four-wheel-drive, this enterprising eBayer has seen fit to make that feature all but impossible on his majorly chopped GL.
As best we can tell, this Subaru owner was attempting to circumvent a standard automobile registration, by transforming this tired Scooby into a three-wheeler. The project seems to be well on its way, if unfinished, with a fiberglass cone and a lone central wheel where the rear end used to be.

According to the seller, the major jobs left to do are closing in the rear wheel, installing lights in the back, and generally finishing things off with paint and trim.

Interesting, though the slab fiberglass sides are not very inspiring.

I admire the thinking, but too bad it's so poorly executed. It's too tall, narrow, and short to be stable. The rear end looks like a Doran kit was grafted on, but the transition isn't smooth at all neither for aesthetics nor, more importantly, for aero benefit. Side and rear windows of acrylic also need to be cut into it for better visibility.
It would be pretty cool if he could've gotten a shaft drive motorcycle rear end with the same final drive ratio as the front (or a wheel/tire diameter or center diff ratio that compensates) and made it awd.

What a ghetto redneck piece of machinery. That thing's freaking awesome.
